Where can I get a diagram of a sewing machine where the path of the thread is traced?
I need a picture of a sewing machine showing the parts where the thread goes.
Look on the front or side of the machine for the brand and model #. type www.”brandname”.com and then follow the guide to enter the model #.
However just look at the front top of the machine. You should see one or two spindles sticking up about 2″ tall. Your spool starts there. Pull the thread to the left, you may find a small metal circular hook that the thread will run thru or around, then it goes down around the tension button and back up to hook thru the 1″ hook eye that goes up and down when you start the machine. Then you’ll find maybe another metal circular hook at top left, run it thru there, and back down right beneath the base of this, and look for a slit like in the metal, go thru there and then thread it. If you have your bobbin in, with your top thread in left hand, hold and with right hand use the wheel at the right and pull toward you with one circle and the thread should hook down into the inside of machine and bring your bobbin thread out. You are ready to sew if your tensions are set correct.
Some older machines, like Singer, will have a door on the left side that opens and it looks like a line about 1/16″ wide separating from the machine. It’s hard to open at first, but if it does, it will have a diagram on the threading.
