Singer Sewing Machine Parts
i dont know how to get the model number from the serial number on my singer sewing machine?
Its my moms sewing machine she never uses and it needs the cord that has the pedal and the plug in to go to the wall but apparntly i need to know the model number n i cant figure it out but here is the serial number. c31423066. any help would be appreciated and also can someone guesstimate about how much that part would cost. thanks!
If that’s the actual serial number, the C records were lost… manufacture started on that series in Wittenburg, Germany in 1908. On the off-chance that this isn’t quite the whole number, you can look here: http://singerco.com/support/model_number.html and http://singerco.com/support/serial_numbers.html or talk to Singer Customer Service and see if they can recognize the model from good photos (I’d suggest front, back, sides and bobbin and bobbin case).
Alternatively, most sewing machine repair shops can probably get you a pedal and cord set… they’ll want to see the machine, most likely. Or you can try the nice folks at the yahoo group “wefixit”.
Can’t speculate with any authority on cost, but I’m going to guess in teh $30-60 range.
If the machine really is from the early 1900s, the motor was a retrofit.
