Sewing Machine Darning Foot

Free machine embroidery on Brother VX-1120 sewing machine?
I have a Brother VX-1120 sewing machine and I want to be able to do free machine embroidery. I heard that you have to get a darning foot and needle plate to do free machine embroidery. I was just wondering if this machine can do that, and if so what type of darning foot and needle plate do I need to get??? Thanks
This model comes with a darning plate – see page 37 of your manual.
If you cannot find the darning plate, set the stitch length to the lowest setting to slow down the movement of the feed dogs.
If the lower setting is not satisfactory, you can tape an index card over the feed dogs and punch a hole for the needle.
You do need to get a daring/quilting/free motion foot for the best performance as it does not sit as low as a regular presser foot. This allows you better control when moving the fabric for your free-motion darning/stitching/embroidery.
Your machine uses a low shank foot and this foot will screw onto the sewing machine’s presser foot bar.
