HELP! need advice about sewing machines?
I want a sewing machine that is reasonably priced, light weight, but still has features that I need. I’m a beginner, but I really want to be able to use the sewing machine for all my projects. I’m stuck between two

which one would you buy? why? if neither why not?
As a sewing machine tech I will tell you don’t get either. These plastic machines do not last. If something goes wrong no one will fix it as its cheaper to throw it away and get another. The plastic parts inside wear and break. You should look in thrift stores, yard sales, craigslist.org in your area and get a 20 or 30 year old machine for cheap that has the features you want and get that. Figure 50.00 to get it tuned up (clean, oiled and adjusted). Its better to have an old top of the line all metal inside and out machine than a new cheap one. Kenmores, and 30 year old Singers would be your best bet unless you luck out and get a Swiss made like a Bernina or Elna. Ask people in your extended family, I bet one of them has one.
