Overlocking Sewing Machines
Overlock sewing machine problems in West Yorkshire?
Is anyone around Huddersfield/Wakefield/Brighouse willing to give me some help on threading the machine up please. I’m at my wit’s end – the manual is hopeless. I’m new to overlocking and can’t even get started.
PS – It’s a Joy’s PF14U machine.

Lesson to be learned here about Joys (but that’s another story!) Anyway, the pics Kay has are excellant! Arm yourself with a pair of tweezers, basically as everyone has said, start from the far right, giving each cotton a gentle tug to make sure they go through the tensions (make sure your foot lever is up first!). They are usually colour-coded and you should be able to follow this easily. If not, do look at Kays pics, far short of being there, I doubt you’ll get a better description!
