Industrial Walking Foot Sewing Machines
Adjusting speed on industrial sewing machine?
I’ve got an older industrial Singer walking foot.
Is there a way to adjust the speed on machines like this?
On machines with constant-speed clutch motors, the basic speed is changed by replacing the pulley on the end of the motor to a different size. With practice, you can also regulate speed by varying pressure on the foot pedal to slip the clutch.
Another option is to replace the clutch motor with a DC servomotor. Servomotors work much like a family machine, the speed is changed by pressing the foot pedal further down.
