Dressmaker Sewing Machine

Can this sewing machine’s feed dog be fixed?

Own dressmaker 7000 (old) sewing machine. Feed dog not working properly so fabric won’t advance. I can push feed dog up from under machine, but it drops below face place when I start sewing. Any ideas on how to fix? Bought for $50 two years ago. I like this sturdy machine, but it’ll be too expensive for professional repair.

Go talk to the nice folks in the yahoo group “wefixit”… plenty of expertise and some access to parts over there. My guess is that you’re missing a part, maybe something as simple as a clip.

If you can get some photos of what’s going on and what you’re pushing up on and put them up on a public site like picturetrail or similar, you’ll probably get better responses to your questions.

Most “feed dogs falling down” problems I’ve seen over the years have been fairly easy fixes.
